Should some cases of Revenge be legal?

He raped and killed my wife and my daughter right in front of me so I hunted him down and blew his brains out with a 12 gauge shotgun

If I kill him please tell me that this country has people that will let a hero like that go, I'm not saying all Vigilante justice is good (That would be anarchy)

But if this was a case and there was definitive proof that the man he killed was in fact guilty of the rape/homicide of his family would there be a jury that would let him off.Should some cases of Revenge be legal?
nope your guilty of premeditated murger,

and they'll probably make it capital so your gonna get the death penalty. in texas lethal injection.

or if you got life in prison, then youd get punked out and your buttehole would be stuffed so full of meat theyd call you meat locker

unless of course tell him you forgive him get him high and shove this struggling person off a very tall buildingShould some cases of Revenge be legal?
Jury nullification. Better hope someone is sympathetic enough to not follow the law.
I'm sorry to disappoint you, but allowances for this kind of revenge died in the mid-19th Century when improvements in naval war materiel and admiralty-law enforcement made letters of marque and reprisal unnecessary. Additionally, government detectives nowadays have excellent tools at their disposal for determining what happened to a person found dead, and the law sees revenge with deadly weapons such as firearms as another form of either murder or justifiable homicide, depending on whether the decedent was found comparably armed and in position to use deadly force on the suspect.

During the Trial of Fact in criminal cases involving felony charges, Juries are instructed to find Defendant guilty or not guilty based on facts presented them. Unfortunately, character witnesses against the decedent rarely get to present their view of the conflict between Defendant and the deceased on account of exclusion by pre-emptory challenge during Discovery of Fact--a known problem facing Defence Counsels who often have a tough job finding witnesses in their clients' favor (a duty pursuant to the sixth Article of Amendment to the Constitution of the United States).

Without such witnesses, Not Guilty decisions are hard to come by, as the People's Counsel work hard to build the mountain of evidence necessary to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
if i was a juror i'd probably be sympathetic though i'd have to be sure that proof that he killed the wife /daughter was solid
I suppose a jury might let you off; a jury let OJ off, and his murders had less justification.
A lot of times the jury will be sympathetic in these kind of cases and give a ';slap on the wrist';

So i think this is already the way things are.
You would be guilty of murder.

Never take the law into your own hands. This isn't the wild west.
No case of revenge can ever be legal nor can one case be mitigated else all would have to be allowed, however, if I were on that jury and the proof was absolute it would be difficult to find the husband guilty of murder but nevertheless that husband would have to serve a term in prison so that ';justice'; can be seen to be done.
Two wrongs don't make a right. Scum generally gets what's coming to them. In this situation, a man would stand up and keep going, not kill someone. See that justice is served by turning a criminal in. Publicize your grief, talk with others. The best thing you can do for your country is ensure this doesn't happen again ANYWHERE, and to do that you have to be alive and you have to follow the law. Maybe you could become a police officer or deputy and make it your life's mission to put people like that away.
Well I must say, all those people out there saying 2 wrongs dont make a right....you all wouldnt be saying that if it had happened to your own family right in front of you. Even though you can never get them back. There has to be some satisfaction in knowing that you took that scum off the earth. Maybe it's not right, but I know I would rather risk a long jail term as opposed to seeing him roam the streets some day a free man while my family never had a chance.

Or....I would pay someone to do it for me.......and alot of money at that.

Who knows, if the scumbag has contacts and money, that does the talking. You never know what the legal system will do.
SHOULD SOME CASES OF REVENGE BE LEGAL? No it is not legal in the true sense of tort, tort is a legal term in common law jurisdictions that means a civil wrong, and can be a criminal wrong, that is recognized by law as grounds for a lawsuit. Its equivalent in civil law jurisdictions is delict.[1] It is part of the law of obligations, but, unlike voluntarily assumed obligations on the parties created through a contract, the duties imposed under tort law are mandatory for all citizens in that jurisdiction. To behave 'tortiously' is to harm another's body, property, or legal rights, or to breach a duty owed under statutory law. One who commits a tortious act is called a ';tortfeasor';.[2] In United States law schools, Torts is one of the mandatory first year courses.

Even if you think that the other person or persons for that matter is the one who perpetrated the crime of rape and murder and she happens to be connected to you or have relationship thereof, it is illegal to HUNT them down and kill them even if your theory is true.

What happen to the LAW of the land who happens to swear %26amp; protect its citizenry? It will become obsolete and useless. So the country became a wild wild west scenario, anybody can gun down each other all the time.

He wouldn't be let off by the jury even if there is definitive proof that the man he killed is in fact the one who rape/murder his family. That is why there is 911 or call your nearest police department or police officers. It is their JOB or DUTY to arrest this scum bags not you. Designated by the government to run after this violators of the law, because the government doesnot DESIGNATE one individual to do the police work himself. Is there one in your mind who was designed by the government to kill? The only one I know who got LICENSE to KILL is JAMES BOND Mr. 007, but he is a fictional character.
';well, no not even a almost innocent relationship can cause problem's ! the more weapon's allowed would be even more work for police todo . then maybe kid's or minor's might get weapon's too dangerous for them ! goodluck from alan tiger . ';
Are you serious?
We are about the last country to have a jury system. They might let you off if there was just one person of character sitting on the jury. Always say ';not guilty'; to any tax evasion case...no one should go to jail for not wanting to have the govt. steal from you.
Good Lord! You are in my prayers with your family.

If you were to do something like this, which most of us would want to, it would haunt you for life. No matter what you do to him will not bring them back. It will just eat at you as you sit inside a prison cell with your backside getting more tender every day.

There are many other ways to make someone pay greatly for these kind of things which I will not discuss on here. Many of theses things can be completely legal, but will still mess a guy up. you just have to use your imagination and let the internet help you.

Paladinpress.com might be a website of interest to you. It's amazing the books you can find. They have tons of books on revenge. Many are simplistic and easy. Some are more risque. They might make you feel better reading them, even if you can't act on it.

Revenge is justified in some cases, the Bible even says that. God also says he is the judge. Trust me, that guy will pay a bigger price than he could stand when he goes to meet his maker. Even if he doesn't believe it right now, he is screwed in the long run. Eternity is quite a price to pay.

If you have already acted on this and took his life, you are definately in my prayers. God said He will be the judge but you already handled it to yourself. God will forgive you if you pray for it, He understands hurt. He watched His own Son be murdered. He did it to save people like you and I though. Punishment of our sins is promised in the Bible, as God is a loving God. We punish our kids but still love them. he just does the same. You are His child too. He will hold you accountable, but also said if you truly repent that He will erase your sins and they will be forgiven.

The kind of guy that did this to your family, obviously doesn't know God. He will. He forgives only those that believe. This guy didn't. He will get the death penalty no matter what.

Good Luck. I am putting you on our prayer list.
You should have gotten him to the authorities. He would have had the death penalty for sure.
yes i believe almost all forms of revenge shoudl be legal, especially any revenge based on avenging a loved one, people in the older days killed people in avengance of their family all the time, it was honerable to do then why not now?
Actually it happened in Louisiana. It's been shown on TV. A boy was abducted by his karate teacher. Anyway it was a big deal when the law brought him back and the media was at the airport. As the police where bringing him up, the boys father was on the left talking on a phone with his back to them and his head to the wall. as the guy came by he shot him.

The jury let him off. Years later a lady who child had something in the nature done killed the person and they threw the book at her. Go figure. Besides why do that when our criminal justice system will put them in jail for seven years and out on good behavior in no time (just kidding or maybe not).
