Is it legal to speak to a judge about your case before it goes to court?

I think that my ex did this.Is it legal to speak to a judge about your case before it goes to court?
No, it is not legal. Complain to the state's committee on judicial ethics if you have evidence of this.Is it legal to speak to a judge about your case before it goes to court?
I haven't heard that its Illegal
in case of ondinary man the person whoes case is is not allowed but if thy are wakil then it can be possible
Absolutely not. As lahocky says such ex parte communications are not permitted. The judge should prohibit it. If it occurs inadvertantly the judge is obligated to notify all sides of what happened and the contents of any such communication so the opposing party may take such remedial action as he may deem necessary. If you believe it happened notify your attorney immediately.
If it's part of a motion before the court, certainly. If they're ';golfing buddies'; the judge should recuse him or her self.
yes you should ask for a new judge and then go speak to him/her first.
No, it si not legal to do so - this could be what's called in English law the perversion of justice, if he was attempting, or could be interpreted as having, influenced the judicial process or the outcome.

He could I think, in England, speak to the Clerk to the Justices, who is a court official, about proceudres and times etc, but would usually do that via a solicitor or lawyer.

Write to the Court asking if this is the case, i.e. is it acceptable in general to do this.

Do it quickly.

Do not make any accusations in your letter, do not name names, just ask general questions.

Good luck
No...that is considered EX PARTE communication and NOT allowed.
It is not illegal in the sense that it is a violation of criminal law. However, it is a violation of judicial ethics for a party to a case to talk to the judge about the case without the other side present.

If it can be proved, it is a good reason to get the judge removed from the case and for it to be assigned to another judge. If the case it over and the court made any decisions against you, it could be a reason to get the court's rulings overturned and get the case assigned to another judge.
Why would he talk to the judge before hand, and why would you think this?
the only time it is legal is if a settlement is reached on an issue before the court date. that is what my sister inlaw say's and she is a barrister.
